Money, Money, Money!

Money makes the world go round, and in case of Germany in 1933, it allowed a certain Adolf Hitler to rise to power. I agree with this statement as i feel that besides money issues, Hitler's own attributes allowed him to rise to power.

The lost of a capable leader, Gustav Stresseman, died of a heart attack. His death made Germany very vulnerable again as it depended on America's ability to lend  money. Before he died, he brought stability to Germany and ended the Ruhr occupation. This means that there would be more income for Germany again. However, since Germany was vulnerable, this made Hitler to take the chance to rise to power as he could use the excuse of the people being poor and to help them if he was at that high position.

The constitution and system of proportion representation to help them with Hitler rise to power. Germany's government could not last more than two years as it keeps changing government. This means that there would be no stability as no single party would be dominant. Hitler then advocated a different system of government. It helped many parties to gain seats in the government and allowed Germans above 20 to vote. This would let the Germans to have a say in Germany and also they will support Hitler as he helped them.

Hitler was an excellent speaker and charismatic leader. People would be mesmerized by his speech and would sit down and listen to him talk for hours. Hitler seemed to understand their problems and promised them that he would bring stability back to Germany. By doing this, Hitler would be more popular among the Germans as they would be willing to trust him even more. This also allowed Hitler to rise to power.

A commentary on the reliability of ' The Eternal Jew ' poster

From source 1 a movie poster from the movie' The Ethernal Jew' i could infer that it is not reliable, the jews were not the way they describe as.The picture that was drawn as a jews looks more like a rat instead of a human, it was to show that the jews were evil by drawing them a monster to represent them, which was not how they really look liked . This shows that the person that drew this were against the jews. Also they painted the man so huge and big size in the picture using black which shows a dislike towards them.

Cross reference to souce 2, it states that" the personification of the devil as the symbol of all evil assumes the living shape of the Jew" this tells me Adolf Hilter really hated the jew and name them as a devil. Another evidence was"so gigantic"which seems to describe them as a giant or monster . This two evidences shows that they were against the jews and being bias as they had hated them. The sources were produced by the Nazi party which had a bad opinion of the jews .As both source is bias i can conclude that this sources are not reliable.

Under Hitler's hands

It is five years into Hitler's reign of power. Historical Bytes sets out to discover how Hitler has changed Germany since taking office.

The lives of the people did not improve under Hitler's leadership but instead he brought suffering to them. Although Hitler brought suffering to the Germans but he managed to change Germany tremendously.
Nazi Party brought hope to Germans suffering  from the Great Depression.
In order for Hitler to achieve his goal, he needed to take complete control over the Germans by taking away their freedom. Firstly, he implemented emergency laws. Hitler used his emergency power to suspend political and civil rights after the Reichstag fire. The government had the power to arrest anyone suspected of being Anti-Nazi. The suspects could be jailed for as long as the Nazis wanted to without bringing them to court. Not only were the courts controlled by the Nazis, the judges had to be either Nazis or the Nazi supporters. Hence, it was unfair to the Germans as they would always be at the loosing ends.

Gave Hitler emergency power.
The SS ( Schutzstaffel or Elite Guard ) and the Gestapo ( secret police ) also played a part. They always arrest and kill those who opposed Hitler and the Nazi Party. The Gestapo were not accountable to the courts or to any law. The SS and the Gestapo brought fear to to the Germans. Due to Germany's virtually unlimited power of its police force, Nazi Germany was sometimes called a police state.

Hitler built concentration camps.

Concentration camps were built to house the huge number of people arrested for being anti-government. The people were treated badly and were forced to work extra hard with little food to eat. There were many people who died in there. The love ones of those who died had to pay the Nazis to take away their body for burial.

All except for pro-Nazi cultural activities were banned. Under Nazi rule, all cultural activities such as musical performances, films and art exhibitions, were aimed at shaping Germans' minds to think like the Nazis.

In order to make sure that the Germans support Hitler, the Nazis organised a lot of cultural activities to influence them. The development of other forms of cultural was not permitted in Germany.

Censorship was one of the factors. The Nazis controlled all forms of media and there was very strict censorship. Publications, including newspapers, could publish only what was approved by the Ministry Of Propaganda. Any publication that did not follow this was closed down and the people responsible were arrested and thrown in concentration camps. Books written by jews and other ' undesirable ' people were re moved from libraries and shops and burnt in public.

Last but not least, there were parades and rallies. The Nazi continued to use spectacular and colourful rallies just as they had done before coming to power. The biggest rally was the annual Nazi Party rally in the town of Nuremburg. Hundreds of thousands of people witnessed or took part in this annual rally. The people were very impressed by the Nazi uniforms, colourful flags, searchlights and torchlight processions. In the nut shell, they gave the Germans an impression of power and  unity which impressed the Germans.

Lastly, the youths were brainwashed by the Nazis. To get all young people to become Nazis, special Nazi youth organisations were set up. After Hitler came to power, all other youth organisations were closed or merged with the Nazi youth organisations. These organisations were set up for different ages and sexes.

Youth Rally

Boys went through programmes of military athletics that emphasised physical ( Wehrsport ) and military training while girls learnt how to be physically fit and how to take care of babies. However, the main role of the Nazi youth organisations was to teach the German youths that they should believe only Nazi ideas. Youths who were not members of these youth organisations found it difficult to enter universities or obtain jobs.

                                                                           The end!

BIG SCOOP OF HITLER
This special interview with Adolf Hitler is written by Vicky Tan over a cup of tea.

VT: Hello, schon dich kennen zu lernen ( Nice to meet you in German ). Mr Hitler, i am Vicky Tan. I am sure that our readers would be interested to know more about you and how you managed to be the head of Germany. Do you mind telling us more information?

AH: Ah yes, nice to meet you too! Well, before i became the leader of Germany, I was already confident that i would definitely take control over Germany. Actually, the main reasons were the weakness of the Weimar Government and my abilities. There are a few reasons but i am just going to cover two to three points.

VT: Sure!

AH: Germany lost her capable leader who was Gustav Stresemann. He died of a heart attack. He was the one who brought stability to the government after signing the Treaty Of Versailles. This ended the Ruhr occupation which means there will be more income for Germany. Upon Gustav's death, it made Germany vulnerable again. To add on, Germany depended highly on America's ability to lend money. I managed to gain too as i will have one less competitor. The second reason would be the constituition and system of proportion representation. It was a democratic system of government. Every German above 20 was allowed to vote. Last but not least, it allowed many parties to gain seat in the government as each government only lasted not more than 2 years. When there is a different government taking over, there will be no stability in the country. It was to my advantage as well as I managed to advocate a different system of government. Lastly, the Weimar government failed in keeping order in Germany. Despite the fact that they spent most of their time trying to stop riots and overthrow the government, their army could not put down the revolution as they were too weak. Even the Freikorps tried to overthrow the government to stop the government's attempt to disband army units.

VT: Then what about your abilities which helped you rise to power like what you have said earlier on?

AH: I was an * clear throat * ... You know an excellent speaker and a charismatic leader. People would sit and listen to me talk for hours as i seemed to understand their problems. I not only said what they wanted to hear but also promised to bring back order to Germany. By doing this, people will then trust and support me. Secondly, i exploited fear using propaganda to spread the fear on communist aims. The communist wanted to take rich land owner's land. I also recruited ex-service men into a private army - Stomp Troopers ( SA ) . They committed acts of violence against communists. This led to Germans not supporting the communists and by taking action to remove them.

VT: If I were the Germans, I would choose to support a leader like you to lead Germany. But what made you so sure that the Germans would believe your words?

AH: At that point of time, there was the Great Depression. Therefore, many Germans were willing to support extremist politicians who seemed to offer more effective ways of solving Germany' problem. The person who was able to solve their problems was no other than me!

VT: You sure do have a sense of humor! I have a final question to ask you. On top of the few causes, I believe that that should be other possible reasons which helped you think tat you would be able to rise to power?

AH: At that point of time, all the Germans needed was a leader who was able to understand their problems and keep order in Germany. They were also naive and simple minded. There were also a few circumstances that made the Germans lose faith and decided to gave their support to me. There were the Great depression, The wall street crash and they were afraid of communism.

VT: Wow! So, you were considered lucky, aren't you? In the cause of rising to power, you would definitely experience some ups and downs. So, what motivated you to continue?

AH: Basically, I managed to overcome my early failures and proceeded with my plans. I wanted to take this chance to prove to myself and to the people that I would bring a change to my life and to give Germany a better future

CHRONOLOGY OF HITLER'S EARLY LIFE

Place of birth : Austrain
Date of birth : 20 April 1889
Day he died : 30 April 1945

Adolf Hitler a couple of months old.

He was shy, moody and lonely pupil who was only good in ART . In 1907 his application to Vienna's Academey of Fine Art was rejected. Therefore, he had no choice but to sell postcards that he had painted to make ends meet.

Adolf Hitler as a young boy.

In 1913, he decided to moved to Germany and in the next year he fought bravely in the German Army when World War 1 broke out. Although he was awarded 2 medals for his courage he only became a corporal which is the low rank in army.

When he was recovering in hospital from injuries he heard of the armistice. He could not take the fact that Germany was defeated in the war and hated the Weimar Government for signing the the Treaty of Versailles.

When Hitler joined the German Worker's Party  in 1920.

When Hitler was appointed as the German Worker's Party.
In 1920, Hitler joined the German Worker's Party and soon became a leader. The party members were impressed with Hitler's tremendous energy and leadership skills. With Hitler's eloquent speech and charisma, he managed to influence the Germans.

His charisma.

Part of his speech .

His actions.

Despite the fact that Hitler managed to influence some Germans, not all gave their support to Hitler. In 1923, he tried to overthrow the government by using force but did not succeed. This caused him to be arrested. In order to lighten his sentence to 5 years, he made an impassioned speech to the judges and portrayed himself as a German patriot, not a rebel. Hitler overcame his early failures and rose to become one of Germany's powerful leaders.
